Nord-du-Québec is Québec’s largest administrative region. With a surface area of 839,000 km2, including 121,000 km2 of lakes and rivers, the region alone represents more than half of Quebec’s total area (55% of the province’s territory). Only 0.5% of Quebec’s population lives here, some 40,000 people.

Together, Aboriginals (Cree and Inuit) make up 60% of the population, while non-Aboriginal Quebecers make up 40%. Although the Chamber’s real estate brokers work primarily in the Chapais, Chibougamau and Matagami areas, they also cover the entire region.
